Before you apply
If you have the current three parts. When and how you can take out these parts works a little differently.
The selectable part
Since you have had the opportunity to select which insurance company will manage your money for this part, your money may be with various insurance companies. Contact the insurance company you have selected for more information. For most people, their money is with Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund, the default option.
This applies in most cases:
- You can take out your money starting at the age of 61, if you are born before 1966 or have a lower pension age. If you are born 1966 or later you can take out your money starting from 63 years of age.
- Your employer will stop paying in money to your selectable part when you turn 69.
- Once your money has begin being paid out, you cannot change your mind and discontinue the payment.
- You can apply for your money under a period of at least ten years or for the rest of your life.
- You need to apply for the selectable part. You apply with the insurance company that manages your money.
Kåpan Tjänste
This part is managed by Kåpan Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund.
The following applies:
- You can take out your money starting at the age of 61, if you are born before 1966 or have a lower pension age. If you are born 1966 or later you can take out your money starting from 63 years of age.
- Your employer will stop paying in money to Kåpan Tjänste when you turn 69.
- You need to apply for Kåpan Tjänste with Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund.
- You can apply for your money under a period of five to twenty years or for the rest of your life.
- Once your money has begin being paid out, you cannot change your mind and discontinue the payment.
Kåpan Flex
This part is managed by Kåpan Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund.
The following applies:
- You can take out your money starting at the age of 63
- Your employer will stop paying in money to Kåpan Tjänste when you turn 69.
- You need to apply for Kåpan Tjänste with Kåpan Government Employees Pension Fund.
- You can apply for your money under a period of one to twenty years or for the rest of your life.
- Once your money has begin being paid out, you cannot change your mind and discontinue the payment.
Defined benefit retirement pension
You can take out your money starting at the age of 61, if you are born before 1966 or have a lower pension age. If you are born 1966 or later you can take out your money starting from 63 years of age. There is no upper limit.
The following applies:
- You must terminate your employment in order to take out money.
- If you take out your money before age 65, you can choose the amount to take out each month. Keep in mind that the amount you take out before age 65 affects the size of your pension after 65.
- Your employer will stop paying in money to your defined benefit retirement pension when you turn 65.
- If you take out your defined benefit retirement pension from age 65 or later, it will be paid out as long as you live. You cannot choose to take your money out over a shorter period.
